Life in norway
In june 2006 i moved to Norway.different life different country and to a place with less population and more space.A place where you can walk freely in the woods and feel completely safe.Another new language to learn and am still learning the different culture.everything is expensive in norway so is the high standard of living compared to both turkey and kenya.Adjusting to everything is abit challenging but once you get to know the people and your way around then everthing becomes easier as each day passes.
Some new words:
hi-hello
hvordan har du det?-how are you?
jeg har det bra-i am fine thanks
Takk-thanks
Ha det- bye
god morgen-good morning
god dag-good day
god natt-good night
my experiences
i lived in turkey for three years with a very good family and a good job.lots of challenges from the language,to a different culture and ofcourse coming from an african country to a place where some people and children have never seen an african was abit challenging.later i learned a few words to keep me going.
merhaba-hello
nasilsiniz-how are you?
nasil gidiyor-how is the going?
iyi aksamlar-good evening
gunaydin-good morning
And with this few words i got the confidence to go by my daily tasks and with a big smile i managed my way out.
with time i learned new words and directions and even some bargaining skills at the market.
I also discovered the town in Konya and decided i came from konya to make a sense of humour for a girl from kenya who spoke some turkish.
